new member here who just picked up a 86.5 supra n/a 3.0. i bought this car as a non running project. i have gotten my car to start and have found 2 things mechanicallywrong with the car and need to know if these are the only problems or if someone else could offer some suggestions. when i started the car for the first time the engine loped between 600 and 900 rpm. then i looked in mirror and saw the white smoke(blown head gasket). then i smelled gas, looked under the car and saw fuel running to the ground(fuel line) only while key was on. my question is the loss of fuel pressure causing my problem or is it something more? thankful for any help that can be offered.

do a diagnotic first to see if you have any codes...
if you arent sure how to do this... get a piece of wire and put one end into into T1 and the other into E1
(the diagnostic box is located by the driver's (if your car is us spec) side strut tower, little black box with diagnostics written on it )
turn your key over to ignition and watch the engine check light... see how many times it flashes

eg 14 would be
flash (1 sec pause) flash flash flash flash
23
flash flash (1 sec pause) flash flash flash

if there are more than one they will be listed in consecutive order ie. 12 14 23 34
there is a 2 or 3 sec pause between codes... when the codes are finshed there will be a 4 second pause and they will restart flashing

let me know what codes you've got and we'll go from there

SUPRRA GIRL thank you for the help.i have a code 41 throttle position sensor signal. i should also point out that judging by the number of missing fasteners that someone attempted to do a repair on this car. looks like at the very least they had the intake and throttle body off at 1 point.
