are the 87 to 92 supra blocks aluminum or cast iron? ive noticed on every site people complaining about head gaskets and usually aluminum heads on a cast iron block will cause the head gasket to blow or leak. and is it a posi track rear end (both back tires spin not just 1)?
thanks |

yes, the block on that year supra in cast iron. Typically, the head gasket blows because of the lack of cooling of cylinders 5 and 6. bad engineering for that head. I've heard a story about some owners using the old style head. 5m or the 6m. better flow and cooling, not to sure

the blowing head gasket problem was not due to head design faults, was due to torque settings not being high enough. retorque the head and you don't have a bhg problem.
