Car won't start - HELP!
Maybe someone out there can give me a place to start looking. When I turned my key this morning my car would not start. The battery is fine. I went to the garage and the alternator wiring was O.K. I don't believe its the starter because there is not even a clicking noise. When I turn the key - nothing, though everything lights up and I have headlights, windows and so forth. I jumped it by rolling down hill and it fires right up. The engine runs fine. I just had a tune-up and oil change. A little help please.
Thanks, James |

I Had The Same Problem But It Was My Starter, If You Hear No Noise When You Turn The Key It Might Be The Battery. See What Happens When You Hook It Up To A Jump.... The Problem Is Something Electrical....
Sorry I Couldent Help More.. |

Got Car Started
Thanks for trying, but I called a Toyota dealer and it seems I activated the security system and had to reset it. I didn't think my car would just die like that and it bothered me all morning, then I remember I had trouble with this stupid security system before (got locked out of my radio) and I got a really nice service rep on the phone to help me. Whew! Got my baby back.

Make sure you unlock the door before you start the car. Every once in a while the security on my car will do the same. The other option is the neutral safety switch. Just some ideas.

no start
It sure sounds like the factory anti theft deterant system. my 86.5 does the same annoying thing a few times a year. I have found the solution!
1. exit the car. 2. lock the doors using the inside lock, not the key. 3. close the door; however pull up on the outside door handle while you are closing it. 4. look thru the window to see if the blinky light on the dash starts blinking. --- if it does, then simply unlock the door using your key and start your car. --- if it does not, try all steps again, or try on the passenger door. (remember, its takes a bit of time for the blinky light to start blinking.) |
