Hi Folks,
I have seen several posts from people having trouble with the factory installed alarms on MKIII's. I have an 89 and yesterday when I turned the key the alarm sounded, so I stuck the key in the ignition and it stopped but the car would not start. I called the local Toyota dealer and got a really nice rep. This was his solution and it really worked. I want to share it because I would hate for more people to experience the panic I did. If you open your door and the alarm sounds, keep the door open and turn the key to the open position (right) 2 times. This should reset the security system. Jump in and start the car, as he told me you only have a certain amount of time to do this. Hope this is of some help, as this forum has been very good to me. Sincerely, James |
