Tire Question

When I got my supra 3 yrs ago, it came with Falken tires, stock rims and size. The receipt was in the glove box. They lasted about 25k miles. I could not find any around here, so I went with Kumho Ecsta 711's. They only last for 10k miles on rear (2 sets now),& 20k on front. Nice even wear, 4 wheel alignment is good.

I just saw some Falken's on sale at Sears for $86 each. Has anyone used them?? What's your opinion?? The Sears guy said they are rated highly, and are 30k mile tires.

i know falkens are pretty nice tires...never tried them...my friend had a pair for his 240...not sure which ones, but they lasted pretty long, i might eventually try a pair...i dint expect the kumhos to not last very long... but hey it depends on how you drive the car and how soft the compound is...i been through medium compound tires in 10k cause i burned rubber like crazy last summer...

Yea...the Kumho's don't last. But they stick to the road really great. I don't burn rubber, as mine is n/a with about 225hp, LSD rear-end. I spend most miles around town, turning corners, and accelerating. For fun drives I go into the local mtns. That eats the rears up.

my friend had Khumo's Ecstas on his Audi TT and they only lasted about 10k

he is getting the brand new ones that Khumo came out with and they are supposed to last a lot longer

Yep...I needed some wide circulation & quick responce, as I have one bald tire now.

I've settled on Yokohama Avid V4S, $96ea at Americas Tire here in town.
I'll let you all know how they are after I run them awhile.
