I have been working on my 87 Supra for the last couple of days... installing new cd player, taking off window tint, putting on new rear tires.... just little odds and ends... The only thing that was reallt taken apart was the center counsol around the cd player ad shifter.
After putting on the tires this morning, I went to move it out of the garage and it wouldn't start. It wouldn't even turn over. The battery is fine. Is there any suggestions? |

when you try to start it what happens?
does it click or do anything? leave the key in the off position and get a piece of wire and connect it to the little wire with a spade terminal on it going to the starter motor, then connect the wire you just put on to the positive side of the battery... does the engine now crank? i would assume that by you saying shifter your car is manual? if it's auto it could be the neutral start switch on the transmission, it will probably need replacing let us know how you get on

did your old tape deck have a anti theft alarm in it if so go to your toyota dealer and get a code for your supra. if it had a anti theft system it will prevent your car from starting.

[COLOR=green] i had the same problem with my supra, I changed several things which include my starter and battery, but it ended up being a simple little electrical problem. what you need to do is go to autozone or a place like it and ask for a reelay. THis device gives and extra energy boost to your starter.
good luck, |
