I have a 1987 Toyota Supra 3.0L Turbo with a broken transmission. I need to know if anyone has ever used a towbar to tow this make of the Supra. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have also already removed the drive-shaft. I will be using a Dodge 2500 with a class 5 tow hitch. I would like all the input you can give me.
Thanks, can8dnSix |

well if the trannie is already broken then ya don't have to worry bout the tow breakin it
just as long as she's free runnin on the rear you should be sweet

Well its just a seal that is broken on the tranny. No sense is destroying something "more." I have to tow it about 800 miles from where I use to live/work, to where I live/go to school. I am basically looking for the most cost-efficient way. I looked for a car-dolley but U-Haul does not "recommmend" one's use with the 87 Supra. I might just tell them it is for a corolla and use it with the Supra.. lol But I guess there is a reason it is not recommended.

well you have the driveshaft off so the transmission wont be running without the oil pump... it can't
as long as theres no way the trannie can go round with the driveshaft then it can't break the only moving part should be your rear axles & diff... so you should be fine
