Default New girl on the block

Hey guys. I'm new here.. My name is Ash, I'm 20 and I am the head admin over at www.allgencelica.com I have a wrecked 90 GT4 *known as the celica all trac* and also an AE92 rolla. I may be picking up an Mkiii supra here in a couple weeks so I figured I should start learning more about them, lol. It's a friend's car and he said he wants 2k for it... it's a little bit of a project car, but the engine is wonderful and strong. He was in the process of changing the tan interior to grey so some of it is still tan, lol. Here are a couple of pics of my all trac

oh oh i just remembered my question i was gonna ask before...since you know a bunch about celicas, i was wonderin if i buy a celica...the generation after yours with teh circle headlights..i think...well the generation before the ones currently with the triangle headlights, well back the one with the circle headlights...i know its possible to swap a 3sgte motor into it...but isnt the 3sgte available only for teh rwd and 4wd platform? talkin about the mr2 and the all-trac celicas....i mean please correct me if im wrong since i dont know much about the celica...except that all-tracs are pretty crazy

the 6th generation celica is the one with the round headlights. Yes u can do a 3sgte swap into them and fairly easily too... In other countires they made the 6th gen celica with the 3sgte... it is known as the st205 came with a 3rd gen 3sgte and was 255hp 255 torque. U can also use a solara tranny in the celica when u do a 3sgte swap... they can handle the power of the engine and it's what ppl typically use when they do the swap. yea u can use the all trac's AWD tranny... but it's a pain in the ass to do the entire conversion... and I"m sure u can do RWD as well... but again... u have to do the whole rear differential crap...

tnx guys for the welcome

hmm...is the solara tranny a straight drop in or does it require some modification to make it fit? so with the other countries that made the 6th gen with the 3sgte, is that an awd, rwd, or fwd platform?

the 6th gen gt4 was an awd turbo celica... just like the all tracs of the usa... The solara tranny as far as I've heard has never had any problems bolting to a 3sgte... I was going to go with the 2nd gen 3sgte motor and solara tranny when I was going to do the swap to my 90 gt-s... but I sold it, lol

i know the all-tracs were awd...but the solara...thats a fwd platform, so wouldnt you have to modify the drivetrain to make it compatable? i might just be retarded....unless you can change it during the swap...

the tranny unattaches from the engine... u take the awd all trac tranny off and hook up the solara tranny... since ur car is already FWD it shouldn't have a problem. but anything and everything can be changed during a swap, lol... IF and when I do a swap to my rolla... I was thinking about doing the 3sgte swap with an AE86 RWD tranny... that would take alot of modification for the engine to fit and also to change out the drivetrain... but ur car being FWD and the solara as well... u shouldn't need to change out the actual drive train
