Default Overheating

My car overheats after driving about 2 miles and i was wondering what would cause this. I have just replaced the thermostat, the water pump is relative ly new, and all belts are tight. This all happened last night after getting mad at my car i took out the thermostat and drove it for about 2 min before it over heated again, but the engine never cooled down completely form the first time it overheated, but the temp did go down to 1/3 .

if the gauge reads only like 1/3 and its over heating than thermostat is bad. is it leaking or just overheating?

It is overheating because it is coming out the overflow spout.

Take the car to a shop and have a 'block test' done to check for the dreaded BHG.
