Unhappy Water Leak

I own a 1987 Toyota Supra. Whenever I lift up the back, water leaks in from the sides and drips all over the carpeting in the back. I just had the packing replaced, and the mechanic said that the leaky back is just a design flaw. Does anyone else have the same problem? Anyone have any suggestions?

that happens to me too, im just gonna get some sealant or something and squirt it in the cracks outside on the window seal or take off the panel on the inside and see if i can get it from there

Cool

exact same problem
lift the hatch slowly to allow time for the water to drip outside the car before the hatch gets too high and drips inside

Talking My 2 cents

Yeah,

I guess that happens to everyone. My solution is to drive around the block (real fast) before I open the back. This way that extra water blows off.
