"O/D OFF" is flashing since I removed speedocable!
Hey all. My car is N/A automatic (for now). My speedometer was "oscillating" and making sounds, so a few weeks ago I had it removed, so I could search for it's replacement. I have not found it so far (argh!), so I never know what speed I'm going at anymore.
Anyways, ever since that particular day, the O/D OFF orange light keeps blinking when I turn on the car. If I turn O/D OFF then it will obviously stay lit... but when I push the button down, it starts to blink. What in the world is this?? Could it have anything to do with speedocable? I wanted to change speedocable first and see if that fixed it, but since I can't seem to find it, I'm now very disturbed by that thing blinking. :P |

There is a speed sensor on the back of the speedo. The computer sees that there is no input from the lack of a cable, so it is alerting you.
After you get the cable back in, it may stop blinking. If it keeps blinking, then you will need to disconnect the battery for a few minutes to clear the codes stored in the computer.
