2jz or 1jz swapppps cuz there fun
 

i have a 89 auto and i want swap which one should i go with and also does the 2jz 6spd line up with the tranny mounts or do i need mods, what are some pros and cons with this swap, please help, i would search it but my comp wont let me use that option

I would go w/ a 1jz (mine will be here next week) it's way cheaper, easier since it was already put into a MKIII Supra, and still has huge horsepower potential. I have read that the MkIV 6 speed Getrag will fit into the MkIII with a little modification. Some say pounding of the trans. tunnel is necessary, others say it will fit. I'm sure at the least you'll need custom mounts, driveshaft, and a shifter since the one from that transmission sits too far back I believe. It is doeable and has been done...I'd search SupraMania and or SupraForums may have more information or someone who has done it.
