Go ahead, start laughing now :-p
Anyway...
First off, I am no car-dummy but I recently totaled my 300zx and I am now looking at a 91 Supra Turbo. However, the engine knocks and it appears to be coming directly on top of the valves. It is an inconsistant knock but seems to knock more than not knock. It doesn't appear to be the valves cuz the knocking is too deep and throaty for valves. With this being said and the fact I've never owned anything turbo, the only other thing I can think of is A) the turbo is making the knocking noise or B) it's about ready to blow a rod. Overall, the car is not in that bad of shape for a 15 year old vehicle. It has 176k on the body and the seller claims they have paperwork showing the engine rebuilt at 100k and a new clutch 7k ago. If indeed the engine is gone, what kind of price is a guy looking at to have the engine rebuilt on one of these bad boyz? Maybe I'll just keep looking for another Z. If anybody can stop laughing long enough to give me some honest input, I'd gladly appreciate it. Maybe you could be an assistant in converting a Z-guy over to a Supra-man TIA, I look forward to your input. |

Hrm..
I used to own a badass '90 300ZX TT. It was seriously mean looking, and fast. www.cardomain.com/id/lifesnotfair
And now I own an 88 Supra. It's slow, and not that good looking YET, but I'm slowly gettin' there... I'll let you know in the end if it was worth it =P

So I bought this old Honda bike, an NSR250. Bit of a street racer, I guess. I'm told they're fast. Delivering it home with a friend driving the Supra for the first time. I drop gears and make a scream from the twin pipes flowing down this pony's flanks and it takes off like it's tail's on fire. I look back when the Honda gets to its tap-out and the Supra's only two lengths behind. No one I've let ride my bike has told me its slow, they've all loved the thing. That car is a good thing indeed. Last edited by lethalwithasupra; 03-08-2006 at 08:06 AM. |
