Targa Problem

Another problem! :help:
My Mark3 turbo has a T-Roof.
But when it rains, or when I wash my car, there is water coming out of my reading lamps/lights. I have tried to find out where the water originally is leaking in but I can't find it. I am thinking it is the targa but it could be the windsheild seals. Anyone have the same problem and can help me out a little? The previous owner did a pretty good job keeping the mechanical stuff in good shape but body needs some work.

And also, where can I find the tool that opens up the targa? Not sure if the previous owner have givin me that. Is there a special tool that I need?

a regular allen type wrench will work you don't have to have the toyota wrench

Thanks....I can take off the top now.
But what about the water leak?
I have found out that my hatch leaks too.
Would I be able to replace all the window, T-top, Door seals at a auto glass shop? Or do I have to go back to toyota?

they'll do it for you...to find out where your leak(s) are-

-turn your car on with the A/C on running on high
-shut all your windows and make sure your t top is on and locked
-get out and shut the door with your A/C still running
-take a smoke machine or some kind of smoke and go around the door seals and t top with the smoke. where you see the smoke blowing (or being pushed) away from the car is where your leak is.

if you find a leak (where the smoke was pushed away ) you need to replace your seals.

any window place will order them for u

wow, thats a pretty damn cool idea! obviously you would have to have a pretty calm environment like a closed up garage but it seems to me that it would work.
