Default no spedometer

hi im new here, i live in south africa and i have a 1992 toyota supra 2 ltr twin turbo. a while back my speedometer cable broke and i had to get a new one, the problem is that it has three connections (i think) on either side and i dont know in what order they go in. i was wondering if any one could give me advice to fix this problem, it would be most appriciated.

should be an elbow or connector of some sort that goes directly to the transmission, then the short piece, then the long piece.
is it that hard? they only go one way, and the long cable won't reach without the intermediate cable connected to it, and the intermediate cable won't reach without the other piece connected to it.
