Crank shaft pulley..

Hi, I'm trying to replace the head gasket myself but I got stuck trying to take the bolt on the crank shaft pulley off. I know I have to lock the flywheel in order to do this so I took off the starter motor to access it. Then I had a friend jam the gears of the flywheel with a simple screw driver while I tried to break the bolt of the crank shaft pulley loose. However, this does not seem to be working. Any ideas on how to go about doing this? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Manual or Auto box ? I presume you are intending to change the cam belt at the same time as doing the head. To remove the head you don't need to remove the crank pulley.
