I want to buy my first Supra
 

Hey Guys
this is my first ever post on here..so be gentle with me! I am looking to buy my first ever Supra. Here is what I require....please advise...
model Mark IV, Automatic...now I really need the fastest supra I can get my sticky fingers on! Remember its gotta be Auto. do I go for twin turbo or single turbo? Chipped up? Ideally I would like it to rip like hell, about 4 seconds 0-60 YES PLEASE.

Well It seems you have been watching 2 fast 2 furious...lol. Umm, the 2JZ - GTE engine IS a twin turbo...I don't think they had a single turbo version either.

You are looking at about $80,000 to build a car to what you want, that includes engine, suspension, tires, and probably weight reduction...or HUGE tires. From my personal experience, these cars like to spin their tires, and they do it with grace most of the time, but they still spin...when you spin, you loose traction, and milliseconds, to seconds off of your 1\4 mile time, even your 0-100KM time.

You would be wise to read up on these cars, and who are using which ones for what. If you just want that MK4 look, great, but you will be punching out about $25,000 USD if you are lucky. Ontop of the costs to build your machine.

Now if you're budget is no consideration, then yes, I LOVE the MK4 look, and that engine STOCK pushes 320hp, and I think it was 334 Torque. With UPGADED, not replacing them, turbo's you can EASILY push 400-550 CHP (Crank horse power). I believe they were wider, but not by much. You would be wise to bore out the block(I would say 20mm over), upgrade the turbo's, 3.5 inch exhaust, put a K&N cold air intake on, and get yourself a boost controller, and a turbo timer(For safety). All those should push you up to about 500HP.

Now there is also some other stuff that you have to do in order to make all that stuff work, and that could be explained by someone else, because I would not trust my OWN word in that.....so I hope this helps you out a bit, I am sure there will be other posts.

I would strongly Erge you to fallow the Mans advice above mine...Also look of forums and Online for supras for sale... Ask the owner if it has been Dyno'd, Drag tested...ect

kid that lives somewhat away from me has a 2jz single turbo kit
boasts around 800 RWHP no nos
stock internals, but a bigger turbo

And here I thought I was perfect.....lol! I am not saying that a turbo Can't boost to that...I was just saying UPGRADED, not replaced. You know, bigger compressor wheel, ceramic coating, all that jaz...lol.

i saw a 1jz with only one turbo on ebay edit- the guy said he took the second one out

haha hurd rumors better gas milage...and mabye he was afraid of the amount of power if had...HEHEHE who knows...also 2 turbos higher octane I have...not totaly sure but sounds resoable...:P
