Power steering fault
Hi my 3ltr turbo mk3 1989 supra is having problems with power steering when engine hot. Have done poor man's fluid change have another 2 weeks before final change. Power steering works fine on start up but as soon as warm is very tight and stiff to move. Any ideas

possibly pump time
Sounds like the pressure valve in the pump may be sticking when the clearances tighten up due to heat.
You might try some cleaner fluid (for P/S from parts store) in there for a week and see if it helps. If not, then don't just leave it in there, because if left too long, it will destroy the rack seals. You may need a reman p/s pump. Carquest is between $135 & $235 (my cost & full list price)
