Default 5mge intake manifold upgrade

I have a 84 Supra with the 5mge engine and a 7mge engine in the garage. The intake on the 7mge looks like a more efficient piece than the intake on the 5mge. Both intakes have upper and lower pieces. Does any one know if the 7mge upper intake will bolt to the 5mge lower intake. Also the 7mge intake may interfere with the distributor on the 5mge. Has anyone ever tried this, any comments will be appreciated

Default It will not work

I took a 5mge intake and a 7mgte intake apart. The 7mgte is a larger unit and the runners are straight when compared to the 5mge intake. There is no way to bolt the 7mgte upper to the 5mge lower intake or to the 5mge engine. Anyway it appears that the 7mgte turbo exhaust manifold may bolt to the 5mge. brb
