adjustable shocks?

fOR mkII's i suggest sticking with non-adjustable shocks. unless you have TEMS.

There shouldn't be anything wrong with putting adjustable shocks on ANY car if you can find them. Before you start looking make sure you know why you want them. Is it for road course type handling...street drags...or just to lower it for looks?

Once you decide that for sure that will narrow the search and maybe prevent you from wasting money if you only want looks. After that (sorry I can't be more help) start searching the web and talking to your local shops. I have an '88 and it's getting hard to find good after-market stuff for our older cars. I put TEIN Flex on my car but I don't know if TEIN makes anything for '85's. Plus I go to the track once in a while so I reluctantly spent over $2,000.00 for coilovers with the optional inboard electric damper adjustment. (about $1,800 without the luxury of the inboard damper deal)

If you just want to lower for looks, maybe $300.00 for your car???

Just think about what your doing and you will be fine.

Lowering for looks all you need is lowering springs to do it right. Or you can ghetto it and just cut a couple coils off it. Either way get an alignment afterwards or you'll spend more on tires/bushings from excessive wear than you did for the alignment.

for now, i plan on doing suspension set up for the road. i still don't know what i want from the engine, since its a bit on the weaker side of things. no drifting or drag for me right now. (not much money as of now) its almost a daily driver. i'm not really interested in modding the body or anything. the look itself is pretty sick, in my eyes. i'm just stickin with suspension work then engine. basically working to make a fast roadster?
