Tools to Remove 86 Supra Seats
Hi all,
I will be pulling seats from a bone yard to replace my bench seat in my 90 Toyota 4x4 Extended Cab. I have plenty of metric wrenches and sockets so any help anyone can provide will be fantastic. Also, I will need to order seat covers that will fit the seats. Thanks, Mark I can be reached at bluito23@yahoo.com. |
You goin to U-Pull-It? There are 4 bolts that are, I think, 17mm. Take them out and the seat is off. And on the drivers side, there are 2 connectors under the seat for the controls. If the drivers side is a power seat.

Hi,
The power controls are of no interest, so I will cut those if necessary. From what I saw initially, there was no power controls. My main concern will be installing these seats in my truck. The real question of the day is will these seats go in without severe modification. Thanks, Mark |
4 14mm bolts
and if you are going to cut the harness at least do it at the seat side so that if someone in future requires the harness from the car it's not butchered |
Thanks for the tips.
I will try not to sever the wires coming from the car. For some reason it did not look like the seats were powered. Nice pics of your yellow Supra. I think my parents had an 81 Celica Supra. It was nice 5 speed, not sure if it had a turbo or not. Mark |
i have a 88 n/a at my garage with regular seats
and i am getting a 87 turbo with power seats will i be able to take the seats from my n/a and put it in the turbo? |
Thanks for the help, but last weekend when I went to the bone yard, they crushed the car. I ended up getting seats from a 94 Tercel instead.
;-( Now, to find seat covers. Mark |
today is a sad day, another mk3 put to its final rest
