Please Help
OK, here goes. It all started when my check engine light came on. I checked the codes adn found i had a broken coolant sensor. The first one I bought made the engine idle at 2500 rpms. Got my money back and bought another one. Much better, but still around 1000 rpms. If I open the linkage and rev it, when it closes its at 1000. If I push the connection with my finger it drops to 700. But when I rev it again it goes back to 1000 rpms when the connection is made. I've tried adjusting idle screw (hex nut) and I can get it down to 700 but if I rev it again when it reseats (against the dash-pot sub-assembly, with the rubber boot on it) its usually idling back at 900 to 1000. Tonight I am going to try the paper clip from E1 to TE1 and see if I get flashing lights (codes). I have a feeling this may be mecanical though. Maybe the springs in my linkage are worn. Why would it drop idle if I physically push the linkage closed a little tighter? Can someone please help me. Thanks.
