Dipstick relocation
I'm putting a 7mgte into my mkII and i was wondering if anybody knew the best way to go about relocating the oil dipstick to the spot where it is on the 5mge so i can use the 5mge oil pan. I have everything else done but i just need to relocate thanks.

Not possible. 7MGTE dipstick bolts to the turbo and goes into the block. You want to use a 5MGE oil pan and dipstick, use a 5MGE block.
Why don't you want to use a 7MGTE oil pan? Will a 5M oil pan even bolt on to a 7M block? |
The celica supra(5mge) has a front sump-7mgte rear sump, need to change oil pans for clearance when you do the swap, yes it is possible it has been done before. I already have a complete 7mgte so why would i use the 5m block? Yes it will bolt up the 5m and 7m blocks are identical.

I've never heard of anyone moving the dipstick on the 7M, it goes thru the block into the oil pan so I don't think you can.
BTW, I edited your post, try not to be rude when asking for help, it doesnt get good results. |
What about the oil pump pick up? Will a 5M pan allow the correct amount of oil to be at the pickup?
Can you just cap off the 5M dipstick tube and use the 7M normally? |
It is possible it requires drilling a new dipstick hole i was just wondering if anybody knew the best way to go about it. As far as the pick up goes you can either use the 5m pump (not as good) or cut and weld the 7m pick up for the 5m pan (like im doing). thanks
