Right now I have the car in my driveway which is at a slight slope, and pulled the front end up onto ramps. I think I have it high enough, because when I turned on the heat, it came up really quick, not the usual 15 - 20 minutes like it usually does, so I think that's a good sign. I just came in from revving it to 1300, like mrnikleye said to do. I'm just not sure when this process will be finished. It's rather simple though, so if I hear water again I'll just try it again. I'll get that block test kit in a week or two, I can't afford to fix it right now anyway. Someone on this site said something about prestone sealer as a short term solution. Any comments on that?

Because the "usual" BHG starts out as a tiny hole from a combustion chamber (usually #6 cyl) to a water passage.

The enormous pressure during combustion pushes the gasses 'into' the cooling system. This then builds up too much pressure and causes coolant to eventually over flow into the recovery bottle.

The sealant only works when the coolant is trying to leak 'out of' the cooling system to atmosphere. It plugs the hole.

That answers that question. I guess I'm just gonna have to shell out some money. I'll only drive it to work on Fridays (can't get a bus then) and it's only 3 miles, so I don't think It will blow on me. This just came at a bad time for me financially.

Wow, it takes you 15-20 minutes to get heat in your supra?

I get heat even before the stock temp gauge starts to register, about a minute after startup, even in 30 degree weather. Not hot as hell heat, but warm enough to know its blowing warm air.

You definately have a problem, the block test will confirm it.
