Default rpm wont go past 4

Hey guys, my buddy and I just got my 88 Supra Turbo running and moving!!! We took it out and the only problem is that once it hits 4,000 rpm it wont go no more and really bogs down, spits and sputters. What should we try and what should we fix?

Ok I saw your no start post and now this one. This has happened to me once before on an 85 Monte carlo SS years ago. I had just got done putting headers on it, but forgot to tighten the nut holding the wire on the starter, car would start but only rev to 3k rpm.

Try tightening the cable that is held on by the 12mm nut on your starter and make sure the little clip connector wire is on the starter tight.

I agree its either a massive boost leak or you have a broken wire from one of your knock sensors.
