Noisy Tires

I know we already have a thread on tires & wheels. But.......

I wanted to hear from others on THIS more isolated subject.

For several days now, I have been driving a '98 Camaro Z28 convetable, with a 5.7L motor.

It has lots of power. I've had the top up & down.

There are new Kumho Ecsta SPT Z rated tires on it. They make TOO MUCH road noise, especially with the top up. VERY annoying with stereo off.

They look like a nice tread pattern, and I had concidered them for my Supra last tire purchase.

I wore out a set of Kumho 711 Ecsta W rated on the Supra, and they did not make any road noise.

If I buy this car, I'd have to get new tires right away.

How about your expirences with tire noise??
