Swap engine or car?

So..

Right now I have a 7mge with very few mods in an '89 w/ an auto tranny.
Cost me about $1k.

I could save up ~$2k for an 1JZ-GTTE w/ tranny or ...

How possible would it be to find a new car w/ the same power?
