Hey everyone, im very new to Supras and Tuners in general... Ive drivin an 03' Dodge Dakota V8 pickup and im thinking about getting rid of it next summer and what I want to do is..... get a Japanese imported Supra that has the steering wheel on the right hand side. Anyone know how difficult and costly that would be??
-Also... im just wondering some things about Supra's... I see here on the forum, MKiii, MKiv etc.. what does that all mean? 2ndly, What is the HP on a stock twin turbo (preferably to the latter years they were made, 97', 98'...(im also assuming 98' was the last production year for the supra... right?)). also, regarding HP, how easy would it really be to increase the HP in a Supra? To say... 400+ HP. Ive saw one on ebay with something like 772 RWHP and i thought that was amazing! Fuck my 320 HP V8... never thought i would say but i want a 772 HP V-6...?? 3rdly, despite the fact that Supra's havnt been in production for some odd years, how easy or hard is it to track NEW after market parts for a Supra? I dont mean going on eBay and looking for crap.. I mean, a company that deals with aftermarket Supra parts (body kits, lights etc....) And i think thats all i can think of now.. Any other info anyone can tell me is great, Im here to learn about the Supra because when i get rid of my Truck next summer i want to know what im doing about a Supra!! One more thing... A Friend of mine was telling me that a Supra is made of Fiberglass and such... and if you crash, the car shatters... Is this true?? Thanks in advance for any and all help. -Mark |

the mkIV is 320hp@5,600rpm, 315ft-lbs@4000prm, 5.3sec 0-60mph and weighs around 1549kgs.this is based on six speed manual not from japan
Also it's very easy to turn a surpa into a 400+hp beast, thats why we like'm. i explain latter maybe, im just busy right now. Theres also stacks and stacks of aftermarket parts and professional tuners just for supras, and you shouldn't have spend as much to get a supra to 400+ than say your V8. Few adjustments and bang no probs, of course you always must watch realiabilty after you've touched the engine though The mkIV is the 93' to 98' model. the MKIII is 86.5' to about 92 rather model. If you want info on the mkIII just talk and i'll give, and feel free to speak about supra's or ask questions, we all love talkin bout'm

Supras are made from fiberglass, so thats why when i accidentally backed into a wall the entire body shattered. They sound like there metal to me when you tap on them.

LoL, I started the whole V6 thing, i was unaware of the I-6 entirely. Im so used to trucks and V8's i didn't really think anything else existed, lol sorry.
My freind though, is not against ricers. when i told him i like the supra he went off about how cool anbd fast it is. He was just mistaken. On the other hand, i am against ricers. Whenever i see a riced out civic or something on the street i race them and my 8500 lb Dakota kills it and i love it. But, i have to admit i LOVE the way the supra looks and i am willing to be called a ricer after that just cause i'll still be destroying the civic. No offense to anyone here who loves the whole "ricer" thing. It just aint my thing. If anyone is intrested though... i did some research about importing a supra and i found out that its not a good idea because the only way to legalize it in the US is to detune the car thus making it worthless... If i could find a Left hand droving Supra in the US or canada that i could get in the US i would buy it with snap of the fingers, regardless the condition (as long as it isnt rusting in a ditch with no doors or engine). Im going to go around all the Supra forums i find and post this want ad in the US. well.. thats all for now, thanks for your guys' help and ill be back. -Mark |
