Coolant Volume (Capacity)
Hey, was just wondering if any one knew what the capacity is in a 3ltr mk4 1989 facelift turbo supra? I got the coolant, and was going to chuck in about 60%, but 60% of how many litres?
I also struck a problem, there was steam coming from next to the clutch pedal (right hand drive). Would it be the the heat exchanger in the cabin or just a hose? I've blocked it off from under the hood for the meantime. |
Confused
I was going to look up the coolant capacity in my Supra Handbook but I don't even know what kind of car you have. A Mk 4 Supra? from 1989? A GT? This does not add up. Are you sure you know what model you have? A 1989 should be a Mk 3, not 4, and I've never heard of the GT designation for a Supra. I could be wrong, but I think you need to do a little research on what exactly you have. Come back with some accurate info and you can easily get the help you need for your car.

It looks identical almost to the picture that's beside your name. It says special edition next to the 3.0 GT at the Rear left of the Supra.

Capacity
Okay,
Here is what I got from the Handbook for a Mk 3 which can be found on line at http://www.brandwood.net/supra/handbook/index.html I never saw a Supra with a GT badge on the back. I've seen GTE on the engine. Maybe they didn't sell them here in the States. Scruffboy COOLING SYSTEM Total Capacity, L (qt. Imp qt): 7M-GE 8.1 ( 8.6,7.1 ) 7M-GTE Manual 8.2 ( 8.7,7.2) 7M-GTE Automatic 8.1 ( 8.6,7.1) Coolant Type: With Ethylene Glycol antifreeze or anticorrosive (Toyota "Radiator Conditioner" anticorrosive or equivalent) Do not user alcohol type antifreeze. |
