I also needed to know this info but I looked around for a long time and I found out that you cant tell the year with the motor you must need to know the vin from the car with the motor.

I have no way of knowing what car it came out of. Is there a year to year difference? I have heard that the 86.5-88 and the 89-92 are the same. What is the difference between the two?

The 88+ 7m motors uses the true 7m crank
While the pre 88 motors uses a 6m crank

So I've heard
Somebody cement this claim for me
