idle i believe it is 4.6 psi

and around 3000 to 3500 it should be between 36 and 72 psi

your probably burning some oil, rings are worn, not a biggie really car probably still has a lot of power like mine does even though she burns oil.

whoa 4.6!?! thats way too low. check to see if shes leakin it any where first. if shes burning it bad, you should see a faint blue color come out of the tail pipe once in a while.

1. kingdiamond is correct, idle is 4.6psi.. we are high flow low pressure systems

2. if he was burning it bad it would be way more than a faint smoke now and then :P

i would say it has a leak, possibly rear or front crank seals

PSI = Pounds per Square Inch

Never a dumb question, better to ask and learn rather then try and fool people into believing you know more then you actually do. The more questions you ask the more you will learn.

If your asking the whole mathematical explaination as to how they figure out exactly, and how they came up with the measurement, i have no idea, but now that you mention it, it would be something nice to know. But as far as if your asking where else they use PSI, your fuel pressure, pressure in transmission, stuff like that.
