Various 7MGTE Questions

Hey all,

Just received my 60k mile 7MGTE with some minor damages. I'm planning on swapping it into my '89 N/A this week w/ help from a couple self-proclaimed "mechanics".

1. Is there any way to tell the year of the ECU?

2. Will the GE fusebox/diag work with the GTE wire bundle?

3. Where are some relatively cheapo downpipes?

4. Functional/cheapish IC + piping?

5. What (if anything) needs to be relocated to drop the engine in?

i can only answer some of those, sorry.

3) not many super cheap ones...i got the one from Cooleeze (order in advance. you will be waiting for like, a friggen month, and that SUCKS). however, it has a very smooth turbo elbow welded on, and its under $300.

4) im pretty sure suprasport has some intake and IC piping (comes together). made of aluminum, only weighs something like 13 lbs. then again, Cooleeze has IC piping, but itll take forever and theres no intake piping. so your choice =P as for IC....just browse. theres a select few that people put in their cars that balance price and peformance, i just dont know what they are atm.

5) as far as i know, which isnt far considering ive never been involved in an engine swap, as long as you have an engine brace thing you can just lower it in and mount it up.
