i ran into this web page showing a conversion for a lexus sc300 1992-93 ish : take out the 225 hp n/a and throw in a twin turbo mkiv and you know the rest . says the project is a piece of cake stuff just bolts right up and matches and stuff like that ..

it's got me thinking ... i'll prolly never really be able to swing a 25-30k mkiv
but i could swing a 3500-4000k sc300 and a few more k''s on tt engine so figure around 8000.00 for a top of the line luxury car with plenty of juice . i bet the sc300 is kick ass comfortable . my dad had a sc430 , sure that thing rocked big time and was 300hp n/a but it's like 80k .

ok after a little research i'd say my numbers are a little off ..by a couple of k's still around 10k for the whole thing isn't too bad .

as long as you don't blasphemise the mk3 by putting in a 2jz.. i'm happy

Hmm... but does the rest of the car match up performance wise... Suspension, drivetrain...I wonder...

i've never drove one but i'm curious .. seeing how it's been years waiting for the / a new supra model . i think it's time i look into making my own

Yeah, talking to my bro who used to be a mechanic, the SC300 is a Supra, about the only thing that's different is the tranny (hard to find anything but an auto), and of course the body and interior.

Looks like the ultimate sleeper, idle around and if someone messes with you show em some boost :lol:

the 5 spd is harder to find but does exist . i need to find one to test drive

haha i was about to buy 5 spd sc300, black on tan nice car...i heard that the 2jz block and the sc300 head makes for some pretty impressive performance, dint end up buying the car because there was frame damage and i dint want to shell out the money to fix it

last night i'm getting gas and this guy pulls up in a sc300 1997 black /tan 5 spd . get to talking a little and he had an 1988 supra turbo same dark blue as mine and he loved the thing , put 300,000 plus i forget if it was 330 or 380 thousand miles . i think it was 380,000 and sold it for 10,000.00 .never had the head gasket replaced .he says the car is still in town ,anyway he said" the supra is a lot of fun but this (sc300)is nicer. "
