My 4x4

so this is a little toy of mine

its a 1986 Suzuki Samurai Long Wheel Base.
its a 1.3L inline 4 cylinder. ive blown 2 engines.
and done almost every gasket on this engine.
im doing wheel bearings and suspension right now.
and my drivers seat fell in half so i got a friend to weld up some mounts to put my 87 supra drivers seat in.
also just to piss my friend off i made my camshaft cover and oil pan bright green...
gona weld up my rear diff and then i will never get stuck again.
this thing already goes almost everywhere...

CanadianBak'inSupra 02-10-2011 02:07 AM

i put a massive steel bumper on it since :)

B9Supra 02-11-2011 04:46 AM

That Samurai is awesome! Never seen the long wheelbase version before. Only the stubby ones.

CanadianBak'inSupra 05-11-2011 01:48 PM

got a new clutch in on friday, and then sat morning the water pump blew a gasket...

gona fix that 2day...

had a massive bumper, but it got ripped off in some drunken 4x4in...
got a 7ft long piece of 3/8 angle iron gona make a rear bumper, this week, and stiffen the front frame up with the left overs...

on a side note ill get some pics up of my 1.6 liter project. just got to hone the cylinder walls and buy new rings, and a head gasket. and its re-assembly time.:bouncy:

B9Supra 06-05-2011 04:37 PM

CanadianBak'inSupra 10-02-2011 04:12 AM

gona pull the engine tomarow.
so i need to buy some shit
starting with a header.
and a better clutch.

i cut the hardtop up so it looks like a single cab truck. i still need to get a bar welded across the back and sheet metal run down to hold up my glass window at the back.

finally got my fender flares off, front leafs replaced with stiffer ones with new shocks and steering stabilizer.

Pretty cool... I've never seen a long wheel base Suzuki mini-jeep either. I've been kicking around the idea of getting a cheap one for a long time... I really should, at least for winter driving.

CanadianBak'inSupra 12-23-2011 01:56 PM

the samurai is my favorite because of its durability and solid axles.
but really tracker or sidkick are just as good for winter use. plus trackers and sidekicks come with the better engines, the 1.6 is the best...

CanadianBak'inSupra 02-05-2012 04:45 PM

i need pictures, but my pacesetter header came in for the sammy, and its loud... as i have no exhaust yet, lol its got a 4-1 collector that gets reduced into a 2" outside diameter. its a little big, but i can really feel a gain in power...

Man I need a truck right now... and with this new house and big yard (HUGE by city livin' standards) to landscape that need is only going to get worse. Just a little one would do. Can't strap a whole lot of lumber onto the rear deck of an MR-2. :p

CanadianBak'inSupra 05-30-2012 03:36 AM

man trucks are the shit.
and if you have a nice car, then the more rust the better.

use it, beat it, leave it.

CanadianBak'inSupra 07-18-2012 11:51 AM

picked up 3 inch lift springs all round. 500 dollers. will be adding socks to the list.
install and picks coming next weekend.

Nice, heard parts are a pita to get for those Suzuki's. Uncle from Chilliwack had two regular samurai's for hunting and had to turn one into a parts car so he could keep the other one operable.
haha if there not to hard to find out there I'd with out a doubt trade you, I need a truck like vehicle bad since I sold me ol'chevy.

CanadianBak'inSupra 11-01-2012 12:43 AM

parts are not too hard too find, but i have a "great" stockpile.
plus im part of a samurai "club" kinda sorta, i have many friends with the same rigs.
