you can put the 2j in tehre but its not much of bolt on like the 1jz is, teh motor is a little bit bigger and little bit heavier..so some extra modification can be done

What are the differences between the 7m and the 2jz motors?
I mean in the head and in the block its self. I see insane numbers pumping from the 2jz build, which is nifty, but I have a hard time finding information on the motor. For the record, I'm pondering doing this swap for my car, when I find the right one. If for nothing more then the parts availability. I can't find to many things for the 7m(internals and what not). |

theyre pretty much totally different motors, the heads flow differently, the stock bottom ends are different...the only thing similar is that theyre both 3L, though its hard to believe u have a hard time finding info on teh 2jz.. its harder finding info for the 7m....

I seem to find consistant problems with getting technical information of either motor.
Materials used in construction, main journal sizes, so on so forth. |

Yeah, I'm looking again and again. Yahoo, Google specifically.
I found the bore and stroke, boost levels, compression levels, ect. A very informative site(http://www.jza70.com/articles/engine...omp_chart.html). But nothing about materials used for construction. I'd imagine its an aluminum head, but don't know for sure. Are the pistons forged? What're the rods rated to? Valve sizes. Haha. Thanks for answering, mang. |

doing 7mge to 7mgte swap is a BITCH....the 89 supra had yellow plus for the ecu and the 87 had grey plugs...THUS i had to rip the harness from the WHOLE DASH to the headlights and swap it into my 87....and change the mounts on the 7mgte with the 87 n/a mounts....and im using my w58 tranny temporarly untill i get a r154 turbo tranny....but yeah....thats the swap....
