Crazy movie races
in fast and furious tokyo drift i thought the viper race was pretty cool. a little hollywood but it was fun to watch. know of any good movies??
|
Tokyo Drift did seem to manage to capture the rush and skill of the sport. I'm not an expert seeing as evertime I've drifted was less than on purpose. I can say that watching the Silvia get trashed made me cringe. It was like watching someone get kicked in the nuts.
The live action version of Initial D with the venerable AE86 Trueno. I've seen only a couple clips of it and it looks really good. Alot of the same effects that show of the precision of the drivers. A couple other good fuel consuming -although not so much racing- films are Bullit Steve Mcqueen(sp?) And The Blues Brothers. The chase scene in the Blues Bros still holds the record for the most cars destroyed in one film... Sweet. |
the best thing about the blues brothers chase seen is that it was done in chicago's lower wacker drive.

you jus gotta pay attention in that movie to see the fakes and flaws
they did a better job this time, unlike the first two movies but InitialD, and Option, are sum of the best videos that you can get, its real cars, real drivers, real roads, those people are crazy, drifting on remote mountains with no guardrails, and your hours away from any help if u get into an accident |
Cannonball run. "Did you bring enough beer?" "p p p plenty" Watch the movie you'll get it.
As for F&F Toyko Drift holy crap that movie SUCKED, just like the others, but way worse. It had something in commom with the others, everybody is driving a 36 speed car, sooooo much shifting. The part when they pass the cop at 197 kilometers per hour and the cop doesn't chase cause it's soooo fast, get on with your bad self doing just over 100mph, just lame. And the end, taking a classic mustang and putting a nissan motor in it, whoever though that up should have their ass kicked, twice. Drifting is gay just like that movie, any idiot can pull the e brake and control the slide. And for the record Drifting is not new, we Americans have been doing it for Decades, there called sprint cars and the "drift" is created by the design of the car and power, no e brake needed. If you know how to drive you can put your car into a drift and NEVER touch the e brake. It's all about weight transfer. But this is about movies not how to drive and that movie SUCKED. Just thought I'd say that again. I just watched it today and what a waste of $2 and almost 2 hours of my day. |
Call me old, but the original gone in 60 seconds, with the mach 1, not the Nick Cage one, although I like that one too.
|
smokey and the bandit, and american graffiti. I know there not strictily racing movies.
|
all i gotta say is im glad i didnt watch that movie in the theatres, my friend got a hold of a good quality bootleg and was a waste of my time, same crap in the all the other ones. It wasnt even them driving the cars, it was professionals, and also why would you put a nissan motor in a dam mustang? the stock mustang motor has more power. Only ricers would like that movie.
Suprasforlife, right on!:werd: Just my 2 cents. |
