An ls1 with 5 grand in mods will eat your ass. Heads ,cam, full exhaust and a power adder will have you sitting there thinking "man I got beat by a real car, I am really gay for buying an import."

and they are both stock from production, doesn't seem like you camaro boys are as fast as you like to run your mouths about.

First off, 98 was the first year for the ls1. Those times are for the lt1 which is a completely different animal. Bone stock LS1s have gone as fast as 12.9, IN THE SUMMER HEAT. Does this mean that every one of them can run that fast? Of course not, there are a lot of different variables to account for. But I have yet to see one of your mighty supras go that fast off the showroom floor.

Second, your car has to use a power adder to get those numbers and is still slower. :rolleyes:

Take the turbo off that supra and see what happens. Is there any 10 sec naturally aspirated street supras out there like there is the ls1 cars? Or how bout a 10 sec turbo street car? U people are outa ur mine thinking that if u spend the same amount of money on a supra and a ls1 camaro. That a supra will beat a camaro.

lol at the viper only having 500. Its more detuned than any jap car. U ever see a hennessy viper? Getting 700-800 without power adders. What about the 8 sec twin turbo street drivin viper with 1600 horse.

all i have to say is whats already been said, americans can't build engines worth a crap compared to the foreigners (spelling?). I myself use to hate, as i called them rice burners, and loved american cars. Then i owned many, and got tired of them breaking down all the time. Also you have to really ask yourself how pathetic are american engine builders, when they can only get like 320 horse out of a 350 v8, i saw a lotus with a 1.9 liter in it that does 10's. And as far as your well you have to have a turbo to beat us, well you have to have a huge engine to beat us, hows that it works both ways. If you were to give american engine builder, and a japanese, or brit , an engine size and see who can come out with the better engine, would be no question as to who would win. I believe most of this has already been said, but some people are thick headed like i use to be about american junk.

oh i have something else to add. Your first arguement was that a supra could never beat an LS1 camaro. Now that you were proven wrong, now your crying well you need a turbo to do that blah blah blah blah blah, boo freakin who, stick to your original arguement instead of now coming up wtih excuses as to why you were wrong.

hey guys im back for a little bit. nicely put kingdiamond. i think the camaro should have never been in a race or even in the same category as the supra. i think i shoulndn't have said that the camaro is slow. but its slow against the supra and many people obviously agree. some people are stubborn and still disagree. but facts r facts. if u can only pull 300hp with a v8 then i dont think a v8 was good for it.. at all. and plus if u guys come over to the supra forums and talk trash then all supra people should go to the camaroes forum and talk trash... any how ima go and i wont see u guys for a while but my cousin will

uh no, 98s came out with ls1s. and no, they dont go 12.9s in a quater. maybe in the vette, barely.

as for going 10s, go to austin. they have 3 (yes 3) 10 second street supras. yes, a supra can beat an ls1 due to cost of mods. i sell mac, flowmaster, compcams, bbk and a whole bunch of great brands you'd love to get your hands on. the down fall to the camaro/firebird/ta is the torque. you have an excessive amount of it so you NEED slicks (to get 12.9s) and gears. so, pm me if you want YOUR camaro faster than my supra. :D

They have gone 12s several times in a few different magazines. I am not making excuses I am stating a fact that your piece of shit car can barely hang with an american v8 that "can only pull 300 horsepower".

These engines are making more power on motor than your japanese motors with forced induction. This isn't a cruch or an excuse its a simple fact that you for some reason can't understand.

Lets say we took a completely stock LS1 and a completely stock supra and put the same kind of turbo on both of them with no other mods of any kind. Who do you think would honestly win?

If you guys think the LS1 is a joke and has no potential then just wait till the LS7 hits the streets.
