I don't need any more HP than what it has now (got a renovation sucking money out of my pocket already!!). So it has what it came with originally.

Pretty much daily driving.

All I can say is that the new coils have solved the problem, but to answer your comments:

1. No idea. I'm not an auto electrician, but the guy I went to knows his stuff.
2. Toyota do sell the OEM...

If the valve stem seals haven't been changed I'd get them done as soon as you notice a little persistent white smoke coming from the tail pipe. At 130k mileage they would be overdue I expect.

Now that the beast is running better I want to upgrade the rims and get new tyres.

This is a '93 Jap import, auto, TT, lowered suspension with stock 17" rims 235 front, 255 rear.

I took the car to a local auto electrician who tested the coils and found the front two were harldy suppling any signal. Being 18 years old I guess it was time...

Next issue. I've been getting some higher than normal revs at idle when the engine is warm (sitting about 850rpm instead of 600 or so) and my mechanic said the issue appears to be the wiring loom...
