Its apart of the computer for the engine. The computer is located on the passenger side behind the glove box.

I took it to a Toyota shop right after purchasing it because it wont shift on its own. I have to start in 1st and manually shift through to drive. they told me that they disconnect the transmission computer and it shifted fine eliminating the chance that a solenoid in the transmission was bad. so to fix this I need a computer that controls the transmission and the engine as 1 unit? I pulled out the glove box and what I see is just 1 computer with 7M-G A/T on it this is what I need?
also they said my knock sensor is bad and I should replace this first that it could be causing the transmission to not work properly. is that a possibility? |
