Thank you!
Drove home from Phoenix, AZ to Albuquerque, New Mexico yesterday to join my family for Thanksgiving in my RED MKll and he was FLAWLESS all the way. Phoenix to Albuquerque is about 450+ miles via I-17 to FLAGSTAFF and onto I-40 EAST to Albuquerque. The 7M-GTE under its hood was a lot of fun, and because of the lighter body of the MKll, man it surely was a blast to drive. I-40 has some long open stretch and I got carried away testing what this baby can do. The 85 MKll has a top speed of 130mph on its stock speed gauge cluster, I had the needle pointing past the 130 at one given time, held it there nearly a minute, and when I let go the gas pedal, it took a few ticks for the speed to drop below 130. Made it in Albuquerque safely and lucky not to get a ticket, I phoned my friend who had a similar car (MKll swapped to a 7M-GTE) like mine and told him about it, he said I must have gone past the 130mph, reminding me that the 7M-GTE has a top speed of 160mph as shown in its original speed cluster on the MKlll series. I love this car! Thanks to the Supra lovers who recommended me in getting one (MKll with a 7M-GTE).
