New 87 Supra-with problems
Today I went out and bought this 87 Supra for $1300 7MGE non-tubo, autotrans. On the way home I lost all power. No brake lights, turn signals, no radio or anything. The car also felt a little sluggish. Once home I opened up the hood and checked the fuse box. It looks like my Alternator Fuse is completely fried. It looks as if the wires are completely burned up. Car will not start. Doesn't turn over or anything. However headlights work so the battery is operational. I am not very electronically inclined. I was wondering if- I should remove the entire fuse box to get a better look, then remove the alternator fuse. Thank you for looking, any help would be greatly appreciated.

nice looking car man,
i would say replace the fuse and see what happens. maybe the internal regulator for the alternator has gone bad and is pumping out too much power? i hate electrical too. |

clean engine bay man, what kinda intake is that? in place of the 3000 pipe? edit realized thats how they came stock that year.
Also, id try a new fuse, i mean theyre cheap so if it blows yeah you didnt lose much, and if it works you dont have to get your hands dirty. Last edited by mnewxv; 08-26-2008 at 04:33 AM. |

That fuse looks pretty fried... if it blows that bad again you've got problems. Probably a short in wiring from the alternator somewhere.
