New Guy Here.
I have been trying to get this posted. Then I decide to make a change and all is gone and have to do again. Trial and error, but getting a good learning in the process.
Here is my car. Work in progress and saved it from a junkyard. Got a clean title too because of the way it was intercepted. But so much had to be replaced, or so it seemed to be the case. Will have it painted soon, Imola Orange. Great to be here finally! |

Response, Thanks!
It's a evo but just destroyed it a couple of days ago. The nose of our cars are long so when lowered even going down a decent driveway you scrap. But I hit a semi tire fragment on the highway. Cracked it real good, missing a piece of it so I'm done with it. Going to customize the stock one instead. Once I get it done, real soon, I'l post the picks.
Fyi. Those headlights are out of a Mercedes CLS. Bad ass HID's but a serious pain to figure out and wire in. The sleepy eye mod was done with no real physical mods. The only thing added was one to add pressure to duplicate that of the headlight stops, up and down. |

Bummer you hit the kit ! Should have gone with a Duraflex unit !
I am glad i got one. My kit is really flexible. I have not lowered the car either... well, its lowered one inch. I can lower another 2 if i chose to. Ill decide that when I install the kit |

I should have. Mine is made of a plastic/fiberglass type. Flexes real good but didn't take the impact.

One more for you. I have this car lowered three inches with 18"s. And it looks as if I can go a bit lower.

Eibach springs were the only ones I found that lowered it enough. The hood is a one off from a fabricator out of OC. It's fiberglass. Rather have gotten it in carbon fiber instead to match my targa top.

about lowering with big wheels
You know, its cool to lower the car but you want to avoid going to big on the wheels... 1 you lose power
2 it cuts your turning ratio 3 might want to get a camber kit |

You are right on the mark.
Boy are you good, and nice to know you know your stuff. First, camber kits installed, if you want to call them kits. I had mine done at a local shop from scratch, great customizers. If you don't do it, a three inch drop would max all out. Now for the wheels. 18's are the max I would go and with the right tires, the overall diameter from stock is just a bit larger. It's the offset to be careful on. They have to fit just inside of the well without rolling the fenders with enough backspace. That's the way I like it. Offsets are critical front and rear. Staggared's are good looking and very pratical. The rear's now have 10" rims with 275/35/18 tires. Could have gone with 295 but would have to do the roll thing. Second, power, or robbing of power is all how one see's it. If the motor is built accordingly, there would be an abundance of power needed. But we never can have enough of it, right?
