things to look for are:
miles on it, how hard it has been driven..if its a 5 speed(again miles on tranny[same for automatics])
any rust damage, previous accidents..anything you wouldnt wanna find out about after you buy it or while your driving.

for me i bought a 87 N/A and it has very lil rust, and 2 dents. one from previous owner, and other because i was careless of where i parked >.>

just gotta go get it checked out..get as much info as you can on it first, make sure nothing is blown(HG!)

i needed a project car any way so i was looking for alil body and engine work, but idk what you want..
after you find out as much as you can on the car take it to pep boys and have them run a full diagnostic, for like $30-$75
