My 89 1JZ MA70
So this all started about 2 years ago.
I bought the car completely stock as a 7M-GTE from the second owner. Who didnt know anything about the car. When I purchased the car it did not idle at all. It would pull hard in every gear, just wouldnt idle. I later found out that it could have been a very simple problem, such as bad knock sensor or the wiring. The previous owner also told me that the headgasket had been done by the original owner. I later discovered that the headgasket was leaking. The car had some major sound system modifications done to it that had been molested and messed with in the years after its initial install, and needed to be re-done or removed. All in all the car was a lemon when I purchased it, and needed a ton of TLC. I pulled the 7M that winter and bought a 1jz,harness,ecu,bell housing, intercooler and piping. I then sent the harness to Phoenix Tuning and didnt get back what I was told I would recieve(thats a whole different story). I also made some purchases from driftmotion and other sources. -Short and long speedo cable. -ACT extreme pressure plate and extreme 6-puck disc. -Genuine Toyota gasket set. -XXR 522 18X9.5 +38 -BFGoodrich KDW-2 245/45R18 FR and RR. -Timing belt. -2JZ water pump/2jz rear water pump housing. -R-154 slave cylinder. -R-154 master cylinder. -Marlin crawler shifter socket. -Marlin crawler urethane shifter bushing. -Pilot bearing. -Stock flywheel re-surfaced. -Flex-a-lite twins fans 2850 CFM. -Flex-a-lite thermostat. -HKS front mount and hard pipes. -Pro sport coolant gauge. -pro sport boost gauge. -12-volt fuel pump mod on toggle switch. -Megan track coils. -Custom made 3" turbo back 304 stainless exhaust with 4 inch silencer. -Intake mani sandblasted. -Valve covers sandblasted. -A/C delete. The twins unfortunately do smoke..... I have plans for them I am sure there is other stuff, just cant think of it all right now. Either way, here is it. No rust anywhere. Bumper needs to be painted. 142 XXXkm on the clock.

Love that look. Keep it simple and clean!
I'm hoping to do the same sort of thing but keep the 7M, and push some more power! what are your plans for the twins? |

The twins are gunna be gone soon.
I plan to go big single and want 500rwhp on 91 pump. Precision sp6062 BC 264 cams or possibly just some machined usdm 2jz cams. Haltech sport 2000 Walbro 255 in tank. 650cc injectors(havent picked an exact set yet) There are obvioisly more details on the build, but you get the idea. Not sure what I want to do for brakes, as the stock mk3 brakes are REALLY lacking in performance. I was thinking upgraded pads and rotors with stainless lines all around. Should be good enough for a street car.

Nice list of mods. Did you notice any power gain with your custom exhaust?
