The parts for the 1JZ are not necessarily hard to get a hold of...anymore. As the swap becomes more and more common, the parts that are not direct replacements w/ the 2JZ (It's a long list!) can be gotten by many companies in the states that stock these parts. Champion / Jay Marks Toyota stocks many 1JZ specific Genuine Toyota parts. I think you just have to be more resourceful in getting the parts that you need. Sometimes you have to trick the Autoparts stores into giving you the parts that you need and not bother w/ what car it is for. That being said...it's still not cheap. My total investment so far in this swap is $4,500 ish and I still have a short list of parts that I need to get still (clutch being the most costly of them). It really comes down to commitment and money. If you want to work w/ this engine, "you've got to ask yourself one question...how do you feel about full frontal male nudity?" (-Waiting) Just kidding, but you do need to know if it's worth that much money to you to have a JZ motor in your MkIII. With as much money that I will have invested in the swap ($5,000ish) I will be pushing about 300hp to the wheels...with that much money you could build a monster 7m and all the supporting hardware to have well over that much power.

Thanks...I wasn't sure if the joke would come across well, but I decided to run w/ it anyway. Now I'm glad I did. I don't post too often, but I try and only chime in when I have something remotely intelligent and somewhat helpful to say. <---which isn't very often, hence the low post count.

here are a cople informative websites for you people planning on a 1JZ swap into a MK3.. Also a comparison for the 7m-gte 1jz-gte and 2jz-gte... step by step upgrades and approx. cost per hp.
http://www.1jz-gte.us/92Supra8.html (Parts Listed w/ toyota Part numbers: ALL AVAILABLE AT THE DEALERS just need to be ordered.. My parts took 2 days to get in). http://www.1jz-gte.us/92Supra7.html (FAQ, and that guys opinions). http://www.jza70.com/articles/engine...omp_chart.html (Break down of 7m-GTE, 1jz-GTE, and 2jz-gte swaps) You be the judge, but the results I've seen have me all over the 1jz as my pick.
