Whats the max boost the 1jzs turbos (ct12a's i believe) can handle? I found a nice one that im looking into buying. I'm lookin to hit the 400 mark with the 1jz. Hopefully

i believe they can handle horsepower... what they can't handle is lots of boost
probly 14psi before you start grenading the ceramic blades? anyone else got any input?

we've been running the ct-12a's on my 1jz for over 5 years on 17 psi and still going strong. so far car has got 243rwkw and still need new intercooler, and a better stand alone ecu. worst problem we've had is blowing off the BOV.

Yea i heard there was a problem with the BOV, he said something about buying a block-off plate but i dont remember exactly what he said. So the car i'm looking at that has it doesnt have a BOV.

if you're running a turbo'd car, don't run it without a BOV. will damage your turbo's from compressor surge on throttle body close.the problem of blowing off the BOV that we had was not a problem with the BOV or turbo's, but more the piping that we had custom made to have a BOV in the new setup, as the old position for the BOV was no longer there. was just the hose clamps didn't hold it well enough, and worked loose.

Well is there a problem with the BOVs that require a block-off plate. Because now I'm confused as to what I heard. lol. Damn memory.

i believe the stock 1jz bov's are horrendous for leaking hence why you need a block off plate and install a new bov

mine is just starting to release funny after 10 odd years that we've been giving the car a hard time, of which 5 was at 17psi, so thats hardly horrendous. to get an aftermarket BOV yes you would need a block off plate, so that you could mount the aftermarket BOV elsewhere in the piping.
