engine swap ?
i have an 87 non-turbo and would like to change it a turbo. i have the 5 speed trans and was ondering if i could use the same trans with either engine.

Yes and No...The W58 Non-turbo 5 speed will bolt up to the 7MGTE. However, it is not as strong as an R154 trans. that came w/ the Turbo Supra. So it's a crap shoot as to how long the non-turbo trans will hold up the the abuse that you will probably throw at it.

ive herd from several places that the W58 (N/A) tranny can hold up to 350-400 whp, but im sure some are better than others. the clutch is mandatory to be changed, ive also herd the N/A clutch will last no more than three weeks on the turbo engine. and it would really suck to have to change the clutch after everything is already put back together.

Yea, if its ur first time driving a turbo car, you will hear the turbo spool and ur left foot will instinctively dump the clutch to do a massive burn out and ur clutch will be fried. Lol.
