Thumbs down Massive power loss

OOOOOOOOk so, heres the deal i was trying to find an oil leak on my 89 7mgte
so i was spraying some carb cleaner to clean the oil off of the engine so when i ran it again it would be obviouse where the oil was leaking from. When i went to move the car some time later i noticed MASSIVE power loss. I beleave the two event to be unrelated. I didnt spray the cleaner on any sensative parts, like electronics, soft gasket's, intake, and so on. Also i cant take the car out of park. I had to hold down the button above and to the right of the shifter to move her into drive (automatic trans). i forget what the button is called. so i see no colored smoke coming from the exhaust and the engine seems to be running fine. I very serously doubt i blew a ring or the 7 layer 2mm steel HG i just put on? Also i just had the head referbished like a month ago. perhaps i broke some part in the tranny before i parked it and just hadent noticed the loss in power, i have no clue what the problem could be, any ideas?

I have the same type of car 89 turbo auto and i had power loss too and for me it was the knock sensor on the drivers side of the engine block the wires weren't connected to it and once i got it all connected it ran like a champ. so that could be a possibility. other than that i don't know.
