Ok i fixed the brake lights, but now i have a more serious problem. When I hit my brakes, My climate control panel flickers or goes out. And going down the highway, If i put the heat to off, It Makes the red batterty light go on, The brake light go on (dimly/flickering), And the voltage go up to almost 18 or less if i let off the gas. and when i switch it between high and off it causes the car to just die altogether for 3 or 4 minutes at a time. This is not good when your in 80 mph traffic and all your lights and motor die and your in the middle lane. To say the least, Im severly pissed at my car ATM, And i dont even feel like going out to look at it. It died at least 10 times on my way home. But when not on the highway, It seems fine. Except the CC buttons still flicker when i hit the brakes, But the car doesnt die. I seriously need some help with this, I dont know much about the supra wiring or what could even cause this. Its like the heater can just...disconnect the battery cable. BTW all fuses are intact, The cables are on tight, And the battery is a 2 month old 250$ gell battery. Any help appreciated

Bad or loose ground wire somewhere? What was wrong with the taillights?

Default Possibly bad, maybe good

Well the sounds of it you have two wires touching somehwere...maybe a wire snapped out of its holder, and managed to touch another one. <---- that is highly unlikely, but still a possibility.

If it isn't that then there is always the fact that your electrical system is now dying. I hope not, because I just look at the wireing harness and don't want to touch it....I am not good with electrical stuff. (Makes me think back to when I shocked myself, and woke up on the other part of the room)

Well i just drove an hour an a half home, And it didnt. It might have been cause the car was hot and losing a soldering connection or something. It still does the flickery thing thou.

definately a short somewhere, which can be a real pain to find. I would recommend pulling some access panels, maybe even the gauge cluster...then wait till its dark out (or do this in a garage where you can get it dark enough) and then try turning on the CC and/or other things while looking for a faint spark. you can wiggle some wires back there too to try to duplicate the problem or even possibly alleviate it.

The only thing that has me concerned is that if you have a short and its not blowing a fuse...then the wire thats shorted is a direct connection (meaning pre fuse block) and that can be a little scary...if you've ever seen a wire fire in a car....trust me you dont want that to happen!

Lol, well my monte carlo, before doing a remote starter solenoid and heat shield, The header would melt the starter to the "ON" position, Even if the key was completely off and out of the car. I remember my dad telling me to stop cranking and i was holding the key out the window and he was like man that s not good. Anyways competely melted the entire wiring harness that goes to the starter/trans and the battery exploded all over and corroed my paint to hell. So Ive got a little experience with that haha. But, I think it has something to do with a short inside the control panel. Because when it flickers, I noticed in the dark, Its becasue its going to night mode and then day mode fast, Like dim/all lights on, to not dim/lcd/button lights only. And its got something to do with the brake switch. Because that is what i adjusted to fix the lights. Thansks for the replies all...wish me luck
