1jz is a twin turbo engine you can get pretty easily. They only came on the non-american cars. Only thing with that is you'll need new engine mounts and you'll need to extend the wiring harness about 18" or so. Unless you want to convert your car to RHD. Probably not as easy as extending the wiring harness but would be pretty cool. The manual 1jz engine/tranny are harder to find than the automatic ones, and more expensive. So if you want to use your existing transmission, you'll need the 1JZ bellhousing. Only downside of this engine is the torque. Upside is a higher redline.
Then theres the 1g-gte. Also a twin turbo engine, but it has less power stock than the 7m-gte does stock. |
